Sustainability in our DNA
In the early 2000s, we decided to shift our investments towards more sustainable segments. We made a number of investments in renewable energy, such as building the world’s largest biopellet plant, investments in offshore wind power and continuous investments in forest land, both in Sweden, South America and the USA.
In addition, we have had a strong focus on digitization and new technology in innovative companies that create solutions that provide value for the environment, society, companies and individuals. Today, digitization and technology companies account for the largest share of our portfolio.
A prioritised topic
In our portfolio companies, we drive the sustainability agenda via the board and in close dialogue with the management of each portfolio company. We are proud of the achievements and work done in our companies. For example Baltic Lifejackets with life-saving products and Cybercom that released the first sustainability report already in 2010 and was just named “Ambitious Climate Leader” by the UN Global Compact.

Semcon makes the greatest contribution by combining innovative digital solutions with physical products and production environments. Digital solutions are developed from three horizons:
– Recharge, is about upgrading existing products.
– Reinvent, means that we invent new sustainable products and services using digital solutions.
– Reimagine, is about creating completely new business models, portfolios and organisation.

We offer our customers innovative technical solutions, based on productivity, quality and partnership. Our solutions can minimize carbon footprint by choosing the right packaging, improving fill rates in trucks, and driving the most optimal route in the warehouse when picking; minimizing wear and tear and saving electricity.
